Lors de cette conférence d’artiste, Annie France présentera un survol de ses plus récentes résidences — à la Fonderie Darling et à la Gare de Matapédia (2024), ainsi qu’au Symposium international d’art contemporain de Baie-Saint-Paul (2025). Elle y abordera l’évolution de ses recherches et les avancées réalisées au fil de ces expériences, en traversant les différents médiums qui composent sa pratique actuelle, dont la photographie, la performance et la vidéo. Elle partagera également l’état actuel de son travail ainsi que les pistes qui orientent la suite de ses explorations.

During this artist talk, Annie France will offer an overview of her most recent residencies — at Fonderie Darling and Gare de Matapédia (2024), as well as at the Symposium international d’art contemporain de Baie-Saint-Paul (2025). She will discuss the evolution of her research and the developments that emerged from these experiences, touching on the various media that shape her current practice, including photography, performance, and video. She will also share where her work stands today, along with the directions that are guiding the next steps in her artistic explorations.

BIOGRAPHIE
Annie France Noël est artiste visuelle, photographe et travailleuse culturelle. Par sa pratique artistique, elle traduit l’invisible en évocations sensibles, explorant des thématiques liées à l’intimité, à la vulnérabilité et aux expériences humaines partagées.
Annie France a fait son éducation par ses engagements au sein de multiples communautés et organisations culturelles. Elle a notamment siégé au conseil d’administration de CARFAC National pendant six ans et a été à la direction générale de la Galerie Sans Nom de 2014 à 2023. Depuis, elle se consacre à sa pratique et à son travail de photographe indépendante. Son travail artistique lui a valu plusieurs distinctions notables. Elle a été finaliste à trois reprises pour le Prix Nouvelle Génération de Photographes et a remporté la médaille de bronze en photographie lors des VIIIes Jeux de la Francophonie, en Côte d’Ivoire.
Originaire de Caraquet, elle vit, parente et travaille actuellement sur le territoire Mi'kma’ki (Moncton, NB)
BIOGRAPHY
Annie France Noël is a visual artist, photographer and cultural worker. Through her artistic practice she translates the invisible into sensitive evocations, exploring themes related to intimacy, vulnerability and shared human experiences.
Annie France's education has been shaped by her involvement in multiple cultural communities and organizations. She notably served on the board of directors of CARFAC National for six years and stewarded the artist-run Galerie Sans Nom from 2014 to 2023. She has since been devoting her time to her practice and to her work as a freelance photographer and educator. Her artistic work has earned her several notable distinctions; she has been a finalist on three occasions for the New Generation Photography Award and was awarded the bronze medal in photography at the VIIIe Jeux de la Francophonie in Abidjan, Ivory Coast.
Originally from Caraquet, she currently lives, mothers and creates in Mi'kma'ki territory (Moncton, NB).
